The summer is here, it’s time for weekends away, city breaks, trips to the country…but what are you going to do with your loveable pooch? He may be man’s best friend but travelling with a dog in tow is never easy and leaving him in a kennel with his big sad doggy eyes is just as hard!
One new UK based company has the answer, Chien Bleu, the first doggy-friendly luxury travel operator. Founded by dog lover Erin Boyd, Chien Bleu has a portfolio of 30 recommended hotels all accomodating to the needs of our furry friends. Being dog friendly is not the only criteria for a Chien Bleu recommendation, all hotels in the Chien Bleu portfolio must be of high quality in service and surroundings and have been tested by the ‘Paw Patrol’.
After years spent trying to travel with her husband and beloved pet Blue (the inspiration behind the company name), struggling to find accomodation where Blue would be welcome and she and her husband would be comfortable, Mrs Boyd soon realised that a service was needed for many who like herself love to travel but love their dogs just as much! So after 18 months researching and testing UK hotels and accomodation Chien Bleu was born. Although the portfolio currently only contains UK accomodation there are plans for a worldwide brochure to be available in the future.
Currently the UK portfolio includes hotels such as the Milestone hotel in Kensington, which provides a Pampering Pet Package with Steak and Cumberland sausage available on the doggy room service menu, and Blagdon Manor in Devon who will treat your little doggy with locally baked goumet dog biscuits. With luxuries like these what more could your pampered pooch need?
