Well, that is all of the festivities well and truly over. The hangovers from New Year have finally faded and Christmas is now just a distant memory. But now people are making (and trying to keep to) New Year’s resolutions.
Now, I’m never really one for New Year’s resolutions, but this year I have made a special one: learn to swim.
I know what you’re thinking, why am I using my Greek column to bang on about my New Year’s resolution? Well, it has been something I have always meant to do but never quite got round to, and now I have a solid deadline to work towards: my Greek trip.
Let’s face it, being on an island, there will be a wealth of watersports to try, and I want to sample every single one of them: from doing a gentle breaststroke in the hotel pool to scuba diving off the bay, to maybe trying a bit of windsurfing. All of which will be a great deal easier (and safer!) if I can doggy paddle for around twenty feet or so through the water without drowning.
I mean check this out – who would not want to go scuba diving after seeing this?
Has anyone else set New Years resolutions based on their travels? Or am I the only one? Why not let me know in the comments section below!
