This is getting pretty much unbearable now. I have got my travel money (pound at its strongest against the Euro in three and a half years, thankyouverymuch), bought my bikini (the bikini diet, however, is not going so well) and purchased my guide book. So, I can haz sunshine pleez?
Looking out my window today and seeing the gloomy rain, it’s hard to believe that in less than two weeks I’ll be under endless blue skies. Excited is pretty much an understatement.
So here’s what I plan to be doing:
There have been vague mumblings around Tripadvisor about an underwater safari, but as you can see from the page here, there isn’t a great deal of information about it. Still, I’m going to have a sniff around Mandraki Harbour when I arrive and see what I can find. As I’ve mentioned before, I have learned to swim for this trip, so I would quite like to put my new found skills to good use with diving or snorkeling and seeing all the pretty fishes!
Boat ride to Symi
Having spoken to a couple of people who have been to Rhodes before, I have been urged to go and visit Symi. Around 41km northwest of the island of Rhodes, Symi is a charming little island with only around 2,500 people. Apparently, the seafood is to die for and the architecture looks stunning.
I took one look at this and just couldn’t resist. You go around Rhodes town. On a segway.
Now, personally I normally prefer exploring myself on foot, but all common sense goes out of the window when fun toys come into the picture. Zipping around town on two wheels? Where do I sign?!
I think that’s it for now. Be sure to keep an eye out for the gorgeous pictures when I return!
